Brooklyn Book Festival

This is a quick note to say that if you happen to be in the New York City area this weekend, please come to Community Bookstore in Park Slope this Friday September 29th at 6 pm for my Bookends/National Book Critics Circle panel conversation with John Leonard Prize finalists Jamel Brinkley, Megha Majumdar, and Zain Khalid. I’ll be their enthusiastic moderator and we’ll be talking about what it’s like to write a sophomore work after publishing a highly acclaimed first book. This is an official Brooklyn Book Festival event. You can RSVP here and it’s totally free. However, really, bring a tote bag along and buy some books at Community while you’re there. I am here to enable and encourage you to buy lots of books. Ask me, the booksellers, panelists, or your fellow attendees for recommendations. I hope to see you there!
